Origianlly used by French traders in the 17th century, the French River has now been designated a Canadian Heritage river. Visitors can enjoy boating, canoeing and fishing from the river while an abundance of wildlife inhabits the surrounding area. Cottages, lodges and fishing camps can all be found spread along its banks. The river flows from Lake Nipissing to Georgian Bay,
approximately 60 km south of Sudbury, and 300 km north of Toronto.
Georgian Bay is a large bay of Lake Huron located in central Ontario. The bay is 320 km (199 mi) long and 80 km (50 mi) wide and is a popular spot for anglers and boaters. Pike, pickerel, muskie and salmon can all be found within the lakes clear waters and access to the larger Lake Huron increases the possibilities of a successful catch.
