    The Town of Gore Bay

Gore Bay is Manitoulin Island's second largest community with a population of over 900 and an area of 1219 acres. Incorporated in 1890, the town has retained much of the original structures, such as the old jailhouse. Located on the North Channel of Lake Huron, it affords wonderful views and a charming landscape. There's much to do in the town. Considered a cruising paradise, boating opportunities abound. A boardwalk leads to wetlands and wildlife experiences. Or enjoy tennis, golf, theatre and more.

Gracing the shores of Obabika River, this park’s terrain is made up of lustrous rocks, thick forests, wild wetlands and some sandy beaches. The only facilities in the park are wilderness campsites and portages for canoeists. Canoeists taking on these waters should be skilled. Obabika River Provincial Park is 40 km northwest of Temagami.
