    Copper Cliff Museum

    The Copper Cliff Museum is one of Sudbury's small heritage museum and highlights the life and times of a mining family at the turn of the century. Housed in a century-old log building, which was originally built by a miner in the community of Copper Cliff, the museum showcases a typical home of miners in the early 1900s. Visitors can phone for museum opening and tour availability.

    Northern Ontario Railroad Museum and Heritage Centre

    The Northern Ontario Railroad Museum holds a variety of displays and exhibits that tell the story of the local railroad and how it impacted the mining and lumber industries. Guests can board a real steam engine locomotive car nicknamed "Bullet-Nosed Betty" and take home a memento from the gift shop.

    West Parry Sound District Museum

    The changing exhibits at this three-gallery museum cover a variety of subjects, including trapping, First Nations and agriculture. The Avro Arrow exhibit, the famous Canadian aircraft project that ended before production, was created at the museum. Daily discovery programs for young children are offered throughout the summer. Open all year (seasonal hours).

    Jack Seabrook's Farm Museum
    One need not be a full time or even a weekend farmer to peruse this interesting collection of agricultural technology. Early model tractors and cars, old tools, and household artifacts are on display. Open Monday to Saturday or by chance.

    The Assiginack Museum
    Built in 1878, this stone jail evolved into a government building, and later the area's museum. Pottery, glassware and porcelain are just some of the items from early Island settlers. The site also houses several historic buildings, including a pioneer school and home. Open from June until October.

    Mississagi Lighthouse Museum

    One of Manitoulin Island's heritage museums, the Mississagi Lighthouse Museum is housed in a 19th century lighthouse which overlooks the Mississagi Strait. The museum showcases relics from shipwrecks on the dangerous strait and highlights the life of past lighthouse keepers. Open daily, late May through September.

    Anderson Farm Museum

    A member of Sudbury's Heritage Museums, the Anderson Farm Museum is a turn of the century dairy farm restored to its early workings. Visitors can tour the 5.6 ha (14 acre) farm, learn about horse and wind-powered tools and techniques or have a picnic on the grounds. Tours by telephone arrangement.

    Old Fire Hall Museum
    This historic landmark was built in 1893. The original bell clanged out for 73 years, summoning volunteer firefighters to emergencies. During World War II, the sound indicated the 9pm curfew. Open to the public.

    Little Schoolhouse & Museum South Baymouth

    Originally a one-room schoolhouse, this museum is situated in the ferry port of South Baymouth and showcases the history of the community, the nearby ghost town of Michael's Bay and the life and times of the village school. Open daily May through October.

    Little Current-Howland Centennial Museum
    Located in Sheguiandah, this museum houses a variety of artifacts from early settler times. Information on the Sheguiandah dig, which resulted in fossils dating 9600 years ago, can also be obtained. Special events and courses are held during the summer months.
