    Oastler Lake Provincial Park

    Oastler Lake Provincial Park is located very near Parry Sound and other delightful parks. Potential summer fish catches include rainbow trout, bass and pike. The sandy beach and clear water make it a fine choice for family swimming. Boats under 20ft long are welcome.

    Bridal Veil Falls
    Picture perfect, Bridal Veil Falls is located near Kagawong, on the north side of Manitoulin Island. The walking trail is short yet lovely. A picnic area is at the beginning of the site, and parking is available.

    Restoule Provincial Park

    The trails that lead up to the high granite bluffs are suitable for either hikers or mountain bikers. The flat-water canoe route retraces the way the Ojibwa took Samuel de Champlain, and requires 4-6 days to complete. Visitors can spy a plethora of wildlife at Restoule, including white-tailed deer and heron rookeries.

    Misery Bay Provincial Nature Reserve

    Located on the south shore of Manitoulin Island, Misery Bay is home to many species of vegetation and birds, some rare. Some wilderness hiking can be done, but note that there are no visitor facilities.

    Bell Park
    Bell Park is the sight of many of Sudbury's outdoor festivals and events. The park is situated on the shore of Lake Ramsey and to the north of Science North. This picturesque park contains an amphitheatre and gazebos and picnic benches.

    Lake Laurentian Conservation Area
    Established in the 1960s, the Lake Laurentian Conservation Area is situated off the southeastern shore of Lake Ramsey and includes a wetlands area and over 55 km (34 m) of trails for hiking, biking, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. The area also features a self-guided nature trail and is popular for bird watching.

    Marten River Provincial Park

    Marten River Provincial Park is located just north of North Bay, on the southern point of the Temigami Lakes. A replica of a 1800s logging camp is within park, as well as an old growth white pine trail and a sandy beach with swimming area. Officially open between mid-May to late September, winter activities such as cross-country skiing are permitted.

    Fairbank Provincial Park

    Scientists believe that this area rich in nickel and ore was the result of a hurtling meteorite that stuck the earth millions of years ago. The theory continues that Fairbank Lake was a crater, and its spring-fed waters now attract scuba divers and snorkellers. There is a buoyed area for swimmers as well as a boat launch.

    Massasauga Provincial Park

    This provincial park is only accessible by water, and is made up of many small islands, inland forests and lakes. Fine fishing, camping and boating opportunities exist in the area, as well as visiting an older cottage - Calhoun Lodge (circa 1930s).

    Lady Evelyn-Smoothwater Provincial Park

    Gordon's Park

    Gordon's Park has a multitude of activity and accommodation choices, including bike tours, swimming in the pool, tipi lodging and a campground. In the Interpretive Centre guests can gather information on various natural elements of Manitolin Island, including fossils, edible wild foods and wildflowers. A ribbon of hiking trails run through the five diverese eco-systems in the park. In the summer months, enjoy the wonders of the night by participating in a star gazing program. Gordon's Park is approximately 15 minutes from Manitowaning.

    Windy Lake Provincial Park

    As suggested by its name, the lake receives a fair amount of wind, so it is advised that water sports take place closer to shore to avoid the choppy waters. Three beaches exist in the lake, all long and sandy, ideal for families. Cross-country skiers and ice anglers can enjoy the park during the winter months.
